How's the Weather? Our city enjoys a temperate climate that nurtures the best of the four seasons, Our people are warm and friendly, and our growing city is always improving what it has to offer. July is the warmest month, and January is the coolest month. The record high temperature was 113°F in 1954 and the "lowest low" temperature was -29°F in 1899, with June being the wettest month.

Some Demographics - The estimated population, in 2003, was 150,867, and is the seat of Greene County. The Greater Springfield Metro Area is populated by about 400,000 people and is growing swiftly.

Mansfield, Missouri has been an active community since 1882!  We are proud to be associated with world famous children's author Laura Ingalls Wilder who made her home at Mansfield with her husband Almanzo and daughter, Rose in 1895.  Their farm home, Rocky Ridge Farm has become a fantastic museum and research complex near Mansfield.  We feel the influence of this family's history in our lives every day.  A favorite community celebration occurs during Wilder Days every September.
